I'm going to show you how the whole world had you fooled
We all have ideas of foreign countries and what they are capable of. These ideas were formed over time by word of mouth, media, research and self reflection. In our brains we try to gauge things like military strength, leadership, economics and things of that nature. There’s a huge problem though, you’re not looking at that country for real, you’re just looking at all the information you received and your mental model is completely wrong.
Propaganda is a funny thing. Some people think propaganda can only be spread by government, they would be wrong. Sometimes propaganda is so strong that it gets loose and takes up a life of it’s own. It can even get to a crazy point where even the leaders of the country who the propaganda is bolstering fall for the propaganda themselves. Sometimes, the whole world falls for it and everyone (including you) is spreading it unconsciously. When something like this happens it put’s you in a terrible position that you may not know you’re in. What’s likely to happen next is the leadership of that country unconsciously start making decisions as if the propaganda is true and you get disaster.
Imagine you have a business, your net revenue is $1000 a month. Propaganda starts spreading that you’re killing it making $5000 a month. You start falling for your own propaganda and begin running your business like you make $5000 a month. With that false information in your head you’re bound to go bankrupt.
China
You look at China you see high speed rails, huge construction projects, big business and you think to yourself OMG China is going to take the #1 spot from the US. When you start peeling back some more layers off that onion you realize, this is far from true. Yes, Rat Dalio is wrong but there was a short period of time when he was right. There was a period when China’s government was more “laisse faire” and the citizens could of forged China into something unstoppable. With Xi Jiping as president for life and his faction in control of the CCP, all that pretty much went out the window. Central control got way tighter and now instead of billions of brilliant minds forging the country you have a handful of CCP members doing it. Running a country as big as China requires a level of awareness that you’re just never going to have. This is why centralizing everything is moronic. You start doing stupid things like:
1) Killing groups of people like the Uighurs because they’re somehow a threat to your “power” or something. Not knowing that marginalizing people only make you weaker because your rivals will take advantage of the division.
2) Unable to drop some stupid beef with Taiwan. It doesn’t even serve a strategic purpose. Actually hurts them because the US is just continuously flooding Taiwan with weapons. Playing some pretend “Taiwan doesn’t exist” game, what are these guys 4 years old?
3) Putting Speed cameras on unpaved roads??? I’m just highlighting how stupid central planning gets lols.
4) Cheap infrastructure that looks good on camera but is all garbage. You know how bad government workers are? Imagine being in a tight grip communist country LOL. Dams that break… Buildings falling down… Buildings with no working toilets because they made the pipes too small??? BRIDGES COLLAPSING! Imagine!
5) People skipping out on their jobs because it’s impossible to make government workers do a good job without crazy supervision. Sinkholes because of improperly surveyed areas. Elevators falling down etc..
6) Disappearing billionaires and social media influencers just because of some guy in the government had a “suspicion”.
7) Crazy poverty that they try to hide
8) Still got Covid lockdowns after the rest of the world moved on two years ago?
There’s tons of more problems that you won’t know about because the propaganda is getting to you. If you can’t manage your own dam country how will you rule the world? The Chinese Communist Party doesn’t understand that the more you try to control things the less you can control it. With that kind of mentality nothing will really work out for you because nature operates on reality and not whatever propaganda you got going on.
Russia
No Russia won’t rule anything either… I remember Russian propaganda used to have us thinking that even though Russia’s economy was laughable they were somehow very efficient and they made more with less. Well now I think everyone with a brain knows that these guys skim whatever little money their economy is producing and just pocket it, even money for their military… You got professional soldiers in 2022 walking around with no sights on their riffles… Nuff said. The whole world fell for their propaganda including themselves. They made a move into Ukraine thinking that their company made $5000 instead of the actual $1000.
Good luck fighting corruption when it’s on every level of your military and government. Military parades are cool and all but wars aren’t fought with parades.
War exposes everything and everyone.

Ok I fell for this, how do I see through the fog from now on???
Well, sometimes the propaganda is so strong that you can’t see through it. Other times you can see through it with some good research and information filtering. The best option of course is to go live in non tourist places in that country. You’re not going to learn shit about China living in Fucking Beijing. This is partly why all the “experts” are always wrong.. They go to “study China” and live in dam Shanghai, no wonder why they think China is going to inherit the earth.
