As you all probably already know, A Balloon that’s carrying a payload of what appear to be electronics crossed into the United States with a flight path from China. Let’s dive into what we know, ill give my summary and we’ll go over America’s reactions.
It crossed Alaska into Canada then into the continental United States by way of Montana. The US Department of Defense had been tracking it to that point. The U.S president Biden asked for it to be shot down but defense officials claim to be afraid of falling debris hurting civilians so they suggested waiting and the president obliged. The balloon was estimated to be the size of 3 busses so pretty huge. The US used this opportunity to gather information on the balloon. The information gathered here could be very useful for them in the future. They scrambled an RC135U, Refueling planes and more. The RC-135U is a very powerful surveillance and electronic intelligence plane.
