The Mob vs Russia & What That Means For You
How the Ukraine Russia War affects your daily life and how to mitigate
We know that cancel culture mobs go after businesses, people and surprisingly presidents but there is no way in hell anyone could of predicted it would go after a country, the one with the most nuclear weapons on the planet. This war exposed some vulnerabilities in our structures that are affecting you right now and will continue to till the end of time. I’ll give you some ideas on how to mitigate them.
The Automatons
Nowadays with the internet and the integration of everything around us into it. Individuals have more power then ever, and with some of that power they can find people that think like them and form movements. Digital movements are amazing, they can quickly get help to places that are struck by terrible natural disasters, or they can do a fundraiser for a guy who just lost his job. These movements are very dynamic so they have a way of bypassing bureaucracy, applying pressure and getting things done. On the flip side, there is a crazy thing that happens when a digital movement is formed against an individual, corporation and now… Country.
You’ve seen this kind of behavior with Jihadist movements. People from all around the world would travel and join them in their fight. If those guys could get a super power to bend. What makes you think anything can stop a digital movement? It’s almost like trying to scoop up the ocean with a bucket. You see the kind of same thing with Mexican cartel networks, except they’re motivated by finances, these guys are motivated by ideology or “empathy”. No matter who you kill/arrest someone just replaces them.
These mobs are different from businesses and governments because they have no sense of mortality. It’s like a bee hive, they would gladly kamikaze to appease and benefit the hive. The mob doesn’t care that you have nukes, the mob believes that it is god. The mob won’t reason with you because you’re the devil. The mob doesn’t mind doing evil as long as they feel that it’s “justified”. They won’t stop until you’re completely destroyed. Or….. till something else catches their attention. Example: Trump > Covid > Police > Back to Covid > Russia (I am not a political person, this is just a real world example).
Every single fact that is in the mobs way is disinformation/misinformation and every person that speaks against the mob way is an enemy of the mob. Even the most powerful people and companies are in the mob.
Reminds me of an episode from Dan Carlin’s Common Sense Podcast from like 9 years ago titled “Fear the Automatons”.
Russia
When Russia was war gaming the Ukraine invasion there was no way in hell she could predict a digital mob attack on this scale. The mob consists of countries, businesses and people that had no idea wtf a Ukraine was. The only thing that was predictable was the sanctions the US and NATO would put on it… Never did she think her people would be demonized and have all the businesses leave, especially over a country most people don’t know anything about. This is historically unprecedented.

OK? So, WTF does all that mean to me?
It means you’re vulnerable. If this mob turns it’s eye even close to your direction you’re fucked. Even if you didn’t do anything but exist. Ask the regular citizens of Russia how they’re feeling. Ask the people in Africa & Middle East that are going to starve because of this (link). The Mob doesn’t care, even if you’re just friends with a guy they’re after you’re fucked.

Maintaining Availability
You’re going to have to try to weather the storm. You are now at war with a sophisticated and very dynamic enemy. Typically, when you face a foe that is stronger you can always attempt to make a deal. This time you can’t, if you want to survive you have to fight. How do you fight? Well… Not with guns.
To fight, you’re going to need amazing communication within your organization as a baseline. Without this you’re fucked. People inside your organization have to be insulated from the mob somehow or they themselves might become infected and attempt to take you out from within. Taking everyone’s cell phones probably will backfire. Superior communication might win here. Give your people valid reasons to be on your side. If you’ve been good to them, they’ll most likely help you fight. Russia went the route of cutting off their citizens from the global internet to stop the rate of infection. I don’t think this is a good way but hey… We’re playing the game in real time baby! When we’re dying of old age we can debate who did what right or wrong.
To maintain availability and weather the storm you’re going to need backups for everything essential to the function of your business. Location is crucial here! This is where global internet isolated countries like China might become very useful. Your backups can’t all be in countries with similar ideologies. It’s hard for the mob to spread to very different core ideologies. Having backups in China, Africa and the Middle East is the play here.
Individuals/Organizations
Backup your customer email lists & home addresses to physical drives > If Email is blocked > Regular Mail —- There are 2 ways to beat technology 1) Having better technology 2) Going super low tech — The mob can’t touch regular paper postal services.
Communicate often with your loyal customers, be real with them.
Register for Payment processors in different ideology locations and always have them ready to go. Examples: Alipay (china), > Accept crypto payments ( Privacy coins come into play somehow here. Do your homework)
Your organization needs a way to communicate & operate privately so the mob doesn’t know your next move. Put in place procedures for that.
backups of your website and hosting in different ideology locations ready to rock.
Ad platforms blocking you? Pay influencers that don’t care or go low tech.. billboards.. flyers.. etc (easier said)
Bank account frozen? Should of had a procedure ready and pulled the trigger the second you smelled that it might get frozen.
Have emergency crypto funds stored up in cold storage wallets that are not linked to you.

Robust Cyber Security - Do Penetration tests on your infrastructure often and patch vulnerabilities
Robust intelligence agencies to stop foreign actors from instigating uprisings
Crypto & gold emergency Funds
Charismatic leadership
Don’t have too much reliance on 1 part of the world. Be friends with and trade with everyone. If you feel like there’s in imbalance do trade deals and incentivize business with other parts of the world.
Always inform your citizens that this type of warfare might be a possibility and do drills

You’re fighting a “war” against an enemy that’s thinking and is just as smart as you. I can’t tell you everything they’re going to try to do because I don’t know. Every move they make, be creative and adjust. Your Creativity will be your best asset. Creativity & Leadership above everything. Remember Opsec… Every move covert. You’re fighting against Skynet. Disappearing Act
If the mob doesn’t forget about you and move on after a few months to a year. You’re in deep trouble and probably running out of funds. You have to disappear. You’re going to have to create a new company under somebody else name and quietly move your assets. Probably file for bankruptcy on the old company or something. Make a deal, have somebody buy you out or something… Up to you. If you’re a country I don’t know how you get out of this… Cuba is still sanctioned and cut off to this day, but after a while people might forget and you can probably attempt trade deals for sanction removal, “Play Ball”.
