On the 15th of April, conflict erupted in Sudan. The United States, Japan, Korea and others are scrambling special operators and transport aircraft to get their government workers and citizens out of the country. In this article I’m going to tell you exactly what’s going on there, no bias, no BS.
The Stage
Sudan currently does not have a “president”. In 2019, an uprising led to the overthrow of their president Omar al-Bashir, who ruled the country for 30 years. A transitional government was established to lead the country until democratic elections can be held. The transitional government is composed of both civilians and military people, with a civilian serving as the chairman. Currently, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, a former military general, is the chairman.
