In October of last year we discussed the Chinese Chip Ban. It turned out that there was a loophole where China could still find a way to get their hands on cutting edge semiconductors. Also, we’ll talk a bit about the lab leak theory.
The Netherlands Connect
ASML is a Dutch company that makes equipment that’s used to make semi-conductors(chips). When the US came out with their new export controls in October 2022 that limited China’s ability to get their hands on advanced chips, it didn’t stop Dutch companies from selling semi-conductor making equipment to China. After the Chip Ban in October someone on Twitter alerted me to an ASML investor call were individuals from ASLM were talking about how the ban does not apply to them and how they’ll continue “business as usual” with China. I stated then that the US will try to squeeze them soon. That was another great prediction by me. I don’t know how people didn’t see this coming from 1000 miles away but hey…. If everyone could see it, why would you even be subscribed to my Substack right?
On Jan 29, articles started coming out about Japan and the Netherlands agreeing with the US to restrict China’s access to materials used to make advanced chips. So called “Geopolitical experts” didn’t see this coming, these guys are definitely washed up, shame.
The writing is on the wall, the great US-China competition is officially on. You have a Democrat US president talking about “American manufacturing is back” and seeing huge companies like Foxconn move away from China.
The US is looking to knock the Chinese off the chessboard like they did with Russia. The US Department of Energy and FBI officially claim they have confidence that COVID-19 came from a lab in Wuhan, China. They didn’t really give us any evidence to support their claim. So why make that claim public in the first place? The administration setting the public mood to give themselves more options when it comes to dealing with China.
You can now clearly see that the US is making big moves to win the competition. What does China have in mind? Do they have a way to retaliate or will they just fade back into the darkness of pre 1978? Questions for Gucci Mane…
As always, thank you for reading.
