In my observation, most people don’t understand the relationship the US has with Taiwan. It’s actually intentionally confusing, I wanted to write this post to shed some light on the situation and what it all means.
Before we dive into all of this I want you to know a little bit about Taiwanese history, I did a short 2 part write up:
Strategic ambiguity
Strategic ambiguity is what the US calls their stance on Taiwan in regards to China. Essentially, what they mean is they’re going to use diplomacy as a weapon to meet their interests. But let me explain a bit more, what they’re talking about is they’re going to be deliberately confusing on what their real stance is on Taiwan.
