On Saturday October 7th at 6:30 am, Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement) a militant group that controls the Gaza strip launched an unprecedented wide scale attack on Israel. What this moment will come to represent in the future, only god knows.
Hamas first kicked off the attack by firing tons of rockets into Israel. Then Hamas infiltrated simultaneously from a bunch of different angles and by a bunch of different means. From tearing down fences with bulldozers to flying in using paragliders and even using boats.
They most likely chose Saturday morning for this attack because it’s Jewish sabbath day and was a big Jewish holiday.
The Hamas fighters successfully breached into Israel and caught them completely off guard. An intelligence failure of the magnitude not seen since the United States got attacked in 9/11, but Hamas and Israel are next door neighbors so it’s even worst.
Hamas then proceeded to attack Israeli military (IDF) and civilians all the same. These guys poured a level of violence on the locals we haven’t seen since the ISIS days. Kidnappings, beheadings, parading dead bodies around while disrespecting and even peeing on them. As of writing this, the current Israeli death toll is around 900 and rising with 2k+ injured. 100+ people are believed to have been taken back to Gaza has hostages.
Hamas is calling the operation ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’.
Israel responded to quickly take control of the situation with their military and police fighting back the attackers. The IDF kicked off a huge air campaign and started bombing targets in Gaza at an insane pace. Unfortunately, civilians in Gaza are also getting caught up and killed in this huge mess. The fight continues as I write this and the deaths continue to rise.
Hezbollah, another Islamist militant group that based north of Israel in Lebanon threatened to attack Israel if they start a ground invasion. Hezbollah is a lot more capable than Hamas but I don’t believe they have enough to beat Israel in a war. Israel was caught of guard, but they’re still the premier military force in the region.
Ok, Why?
This is where this all get’s tricky, why would Hamas do an attack on this scale when most of the world’s perception was becoming more and more sympathetic to the Palestinian cause? What was there to gain from this?
No one has the full truth yet, but we do have a leading theory.
First I’m going to list out Hamas’s stated reasons:
Israel was rampaging without accountability
Police raids on the Aqsa Mosque
Response to all the atrocities the Palestinians have faced over the decades
This is all interesting, but wars can be fought for multiple reasons. Here’s what we think is not being said, me and the guys on my Discord had a long discussion over it and agreed on this:
Saudi Arabia and Israel with the help of the US have been in talks to normalize their relations. In exchange, the Saudis wanted a U.S. defense pact and help developing it’s nuclear energy program. The deal seems to have been making progress but what was holding it up was conversations about Israel and the Palestinians. But all in all, It was seeming like the Palestinians were going to get something out of it. United Arab Emirates normalized ties with Israel, so did Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Morocco. Things are going great for Israeli Arab relationships. But, that’s the problem, If this trend continued and the relationships were to become fully normalized it could mean huge trouble for the Hamas organization. Hamas get’s a good amount of their funding from Iran but also Gulf countries. Also, if the Palestinian people get treatment that they think is fair, there wouldn’t be a reason for Hamas to exists.
The theory is, Hamas would do do whatever it takes to instigate Israel into doing warcrimes in an attempt to sour their relationship with the Arab world. This would also be great for Iran geopolitically because it could potentially puts the Saudis in a dilemma. It could diminish the Saudi’s influence in the middle east for being friendly and not calling out Israel, or ruin their relationship progress if they do call them out.
Iran is still in the game to be top dog in the middle east.
As you know, this situation is still developing and we’re analyzing in real time. I’ll continue dropping articles as we progress.
Thank you for the breakdown on this. No way US is involved in a false flag like Twitter bros think?
